Muscatatuck Wildlife Society Events
Nature Time Program for Preschoolers - Second Wednesday of the month from 9:30 to 11AM at the Visitor Center. No registration is required and the programs include games, songs and stories about different nature and natural history subjects each month. Learning and fun for preschoolers.
Take a Kid Fishing Day -Take a Kid Fishing Day is a Saturday September 26 from 8am to 1pm.
This annual event offers Free Fishing Fun and more for the entire family
All kids and their grownups are invited. It is presented by the Muscatatuck Wildlife Society in conjunction with Indiana Free Fishing Day.

- Kids Fishing Contest with Prizes at Discovery Pond (15 and under)
- Free live bait provided.
- Fishing poles available to borrow.
- Kids casting contest.
- Kids Fish Crafts.
- Kids enter to win a fishing pole.
- Complimentary hotdog lunch.

Log Cabin Day - Log Cabin Day is a Saturday October 10 from 10am to 2 pm.
You'll take a step back to Indiana’s pioneer days when your family experiences the history and beauty of Southern Indiana at the annual Log Cabin Day Festival held at the historic Myers Cabin in the Refuge, hosted by the Muscatatuck Wildlife Society.
Everyone is invited to enjoy the day's free events including live old-time entertainment by the Squirrel Butter Band and historic storytelling.
There will also be many authentic pioneer demonstrations, children's activities, visits into the Refuge closed areas, the Chore-Corral where kids learn chores from yesteryear and a free ham and bean and cornbread lunch cooked over an open fire. It's the perfect way to enjoy a beautiful fall day with your family and friends at the Refuge.
Wings Over Muscatatuck - Wings Over Muscatatuck is in April and features live birds of prey programs, a native plant sale, guided nature hikes, childrens activities, a native plant sale, and much more.
